Pandering and pimping are 2 different crimes

There are a host of sex-related crimes that a person can face criminal charges for. Pandering and pimping are two different crimes that can often come from certain sex-related activities. It is crucial that you know the difference between these two crimes if you are facing these charges.

Pimping charges must meet specific elements. These elements include that the person receives the benefits of the sex services of a prostitute. This generally means that the person gets the money that the prostitute makes from johns. The second is that the person knows that the benefits, such as money, are from the sex services and that he or she intends to take the benefits of those services. This means that a person, such as a landlord, collects rent but isn't aware that the rent money was made from prostitution, the landlord isn't guilty of pimping.

Pandering charges also must meet specific elements. One of the elements is that you must procure the person to prostitute him or her. That can be anything from enticing a person to become a prostitute or forcing him or her to prostitute. The second element is that you have to purposely facilitate the prostitution through encouraging the service or promoting the service.

If you are facing pimping or pandering charges, you need to start working on the defense strategy right away. These charges are often difficult to fight, so you need as much time as possible to prepare your case. If you have questions about your defense strategy or any other aspect of your case, make sure you get answers to those questions before you move forward.
