KC boy's death ruled homicide

Investigators examining the death of a 5-month-old boy in March have ruled the child's death a homicide, according to forensic staff in Kansas City. The news came after prosecutors had already charged a suspect in connection with the case. The suspect, a 42-year-old man, is mounting a criminal defense against charges of endangering the welfare of a child and first-degree assault. Now, it appears that the man will also be facing homicide charges in connection with the incident.

Third man sentenced in Kansas City Brinks armed robbery

A third man has been sentenced in connection with the robbery of a Brinks security truck. In the incident, three young men fled with money intended for an ATM at the Bank of America branch on Main Street in Kansas City. The third man, 22, is expected to spend more than 13 years in federal prison because of his involvement in the crime.

Kansas City man accused of killing stepfather

A 24-year-old man is facing felony homicide charges in connection with the shooting death of his stepfather on Aug. 1. The man has also been charged with armed criminal action, and he is accused of violating a protective order that required him to stay away from his 46-year-old stepfather.

Two sentenced in 2011 shooting death

Two residents of Elk County have been sentenced in connection with the killing of a man from Oak Valley. The pair will serve at least 15 years behind bars, according to their criminal defense attorneys. Both of the suspects had pleaded guilty to the charges they faced in association with the shooting death.
